PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that it is difficult to supply discharge current pulses with a short pulse width and discharge current pulses with small variation in current amplitude at a high peak current value. SOLUTION: A discharge machining circuit 10 includes a DC power source 12 and a current detector 14 in series with a machining gap. A first switching element 16 and a second switching element 18 are provided in series with the DC power source 12 and the machining gap. A first bypass electric circuit 30 is connected in parallel with the DC power source 12 and in series with the machining gap and the first switching element 16. A second bypass electric circuit 40 is connected in parallel with the DC power source 12 and in series with the machining gap and the second switching element 18. The respective switching elements 16 and 18 are concurrently made to be conducting during a current rising period in ON time, and in addition, one of the first switching element 16 and the second switching element 18 is made to be non-conductive for a predetermined time in response to a detection signal of the current detector 14 to make them non-conductive alternately.
