PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor standing pedestal fan stably placed in a room, office or other domestic environment, and conveying a uniform air flow to an air outlet while suppressing vortices and noise associated with turbulence. SOLUTION: This floor standing pedestal fan 10 includes an impeller, a motor for rotating the impeller to create the air flow, a telescopic duct 18 into which air is introduced through a diffuser, and a nozzle 14 uniformizing the air flow in an opening 38 and emitting the air flow.
