PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable tool capable of attaching a hook means for hanging itself on an operator's belt or the like to the tool body without previously preparing a fixture for a hook on a housing. SOLUTION: The portable tool includes a motor 3 and an output shaft rotating a tip tool, stores them in the dividedly constituted housing 6, and fastens the housing 6 with screws 7a-7h. In the portable tool, a hook means 20 for hooking the portable tool on the operator's belt or the like is provided, and fixed to the divided housing 6 by holding the hook means 20 and tightening the screw 7g. The housing 6 is made of resin and dividable in opposite directions at a surface passing a center line in the longitudinal direction of the output shaft of the motor and a grip part 6b. The hook means 20 comprises a base part 21 having a latching part, and a hook part 22 attached to the base part 21, and two threaded holes are formed on the base part 21 to attach the hook part 22 to the right or left side with a screw 26.
