<p>The present invention relates to an insect repellent composition containing the following active insect-repellent material in a physiologically acceptable medium: at least 1-methylpropyl(2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate, said active material being used with at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and of a linear alkyl, having at least 16 carbon atoms, as a film-forming agent.
