PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of evaluating durability for stably evaluating durability for damage caused by particles. SOLUTION: First, a suspension 100 in which particles 110 are dispersed to a fluorine-based solvent 120 is dripped on the surface of a disk by a dripping/drying treatment of the suspension (step S102). Then, the suspension 100 is dried naturally and particles adhere to the surface of a disk. Further, seek operation is performed to the surface of a disk to which particles have adhered by a head slider 520 for evaluation by seek processing (step S104). The durability of a magnetic disk is evaluated, based on a criterion on whether there are not less than a number of permitted scratches on the surface of a disk after the seek operation in a scratch observation/evaluation processing (step S105).
