<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a health-state determining method by which biological signals required to determine the health state of an examinee can quickly be collected and also an accurate determination result can quickly be obtained, while providing a health-state determining device for achieving maintenance and improvement of human health and furthermore for determining the health state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By giving an external stimulation to the examinee performing an exercise, the health state is determined from a change in the biological signal of the examinee by the external stimulation and the age of the examinee. The health state determining device comprises an exercise equipment part, a stimulation means for giving the external stimulation to the examinee, a measuring means for measuring the change in the biological signal of the examinee by the external stimulation, an input means for inputting the age of the examinee, and a determining means for determining the health state of the examinee from the change in the biological signal.
