<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To damp the vibration of the primary bending natural angular frequency of a main spindle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This main spindle device has the natural angular frequency of the vibration system of a main spindle built-in member using the bending rigidity of a draw bar 17 as a spring element, using an intermediate spacer 21 between the draw bar 17 and both spiral belleville springs 20, 22 as a mass element, and using a cushioning member 25 as an attenuation member, set to a value in the vicinity of the primary bending natural angular frequency of the main spindle, to serve thereby as a dynamic vibration absorber of the main spindle, to reduce remarkably the vibration of the primary bending natural angular frequency of the main spindle induced by a working disturbance or the like, and to maintain stably satisfactory working face quality.
