The high-pressure pump has multiple pump pistons (10), which are arranged in a cylinder (14). Each pump piston is provided with an inlet valve (22) and an outlet valve (24), where both the valves have a valve body (26,30). An actuating tappet (34) is provided at each inlet valve. The actuating tappet is engaged against the valve body of the inlet valve for lifting the inlet valve from the assigned valve seat (28) and for a pressure-less circulation within the cylinder. A separate controllable drive is provided for each actuating tappet.
