PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cup type beverage vending machine capable of setting temperature of hot water higher than requested temperature, the hot water being discharged from an outlet (dispensing port) of a beverage pipe. SOLUTION: The cup type beverage vending machine includes: a cylindrical cylinder 430; a filter block 431, adhered to the cylinder 430, constituting a container; a hot water tank for storing hot water; a hot water pipe, connected to the hot water tank, for supplying hot water to the container; and a tea pipe 45, connected to the filter block 431. The machine is for extracting beverage extracted from the hot water supplied to the container and a raw material to a cup, and cleaning a tea pipe by once storing the hot water supplied to the container from the hot water tank via a hot water pipe and then discharging the stored hot water from the tea pipe 45, and supplies more hot water to the container by discharging hot water from the tea pipe 45 when the stored hot water reaches the predetermined amount of the hot water.
