<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of determining whether there is an intermittence of printing without actually carrying out printing, a control method thereof, and a printing management program. <P>SOLUTION: When a simulation of printing is started, a part of data is selected by page from a storage part 45 by a page selection part 44a. The selected data are converted to a print job of a PDL form by a printer driver 46 and transferred to a printer 30. The printer 30 develops the received print job to image data and accumulates them in a storage part 33. In a print server 40, the time (estimated time) needed for the accumulation of the entire job is calculated by an estimated time calculation part 44 based on the time (measured time) taken from the start of the transfer to the end of the accumulation, and the output time required for the entire job is calculated by an output time calculation part 44c from the performance of the printer 30.
