PURPOSE: An electrolyte including an alkyl cyanide-substituted amide compound, and an electrochemical device including thereof are provided to secure the excellent thermal and chemical stability of the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION: An electrolyte contains ionizable lithium salt and a cyanoalkyl group-containing amide compound marked with chemical formula 1 or 2. The molar ratio of the cyanoalkyl group-containing amide compound and the ionizable lithium salt is 2~8:1. The electrolyte additionally contains a carbonate compound selected from the group consisting of linear carbonate, cyclic carbonate, and their mixture.
