PURPOSE: A glass plate polishing system and a method thereof is provided to facilitate maintenance and rework of a polishing pad, since a separating platter with a polishing pad is selectively separated from a middle platter by absorption. CONSTITUTION: A glass plate polishing system comprises a lower unit(110), an upper unit(120), and a mobile unit(130). The lower unit rotates a glass plate(G). The upper unit is contacted with the glass plate. The upper unit is rotated by the rotation of the glass plate. The mobile unit transfers the upper unit horizontally or vertically. The upper unit comprises a fixing platter(121), a polishing platter(123), and a pressing member(150). The fixing platter is fixed to a spindle(124) of the mobile unit. The pressing member is installed between the fixing platter and the polishing platter to maintain the uniformity of the polishing platter.
