PURPOSE: To provide a steering column fitting structure formed to remove a steering column without changing a removing direction thereof. CONSTITUTION: In this steering column fitting structure, a steering column fitting surface 8a is formed with a recessed part 23 for moving a bracket 5, which is projected by the influence of a one-way capsule 6, to the equal surface with the steering column fitting surface 8a in the periphery of the bracket 5 to support it, and the steering column fitting surface 8a in front of the recessed part 23 of the vehicle is formed with a recessed surface 25 for guiding a bracket front end to the steering column fitting surface 8a at the original height when the removed bracket 5 is projected by the one-way capsule 6. With this structure, the removed bracket 5 moves to the original fitting surface 8a in the same attitude thereof after it is removed, avoiding an influence of a stage difference of the one-way capsule 6 and an unnecessary contact with the steering fitting surface. |
