Reinforcing lumen rings are configured and adapted for use in conjunction with a circular endoscopic stapling instrument having a staple cartridge assembly and an anvil assembly. The reinforcing lumen rings include interstitial spaces defined by a plurality of legs extending substantially in a radial direction for traversing a plurality of staple slots of the staple cartridge assembly. The legs extend between radially outer and radially inner bands.
