PURPOSE: A data transmission process and an apparatus thereof for improving error correction capability in optical transmission network are provided to improve the error correction capability and increase the transmission speed. CONSTITUTION: A frame generating unit(120) generates a light transmission unit frame including an in-band area and an out-band area. The in-band area includes a first with information data and a second area without information data. The out-band domain includes parity information. A signal mapping unit(110) maps information data in the first area. A transmission unit(130) transmits a mapped information data.
