A developer supply container (1) is detachably mountable to a developer receiving apparatus (7) having a receiving opening for receiving a developer and a shutter (8) for opening and closing the receiving opening (7b), the developer supply container (1) includes an engaging portion (6) which is engageable with the shutter (8) and movable to open and close the shutter (8) by movement of the developer supply container (1); and a cleaning member (9) for cleaning the shutter (8) when the developer supply container (1) is moved relative to the shutter (8) between a removal position permitting removal of the developer supply container (1) from the developer receiving apparatus (7) and a supply position at which the developer is supplied from the developer supply container (1) to the developer receiving apparatus (7).
