<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The gearbox has a transmission chain with a pinion (10) connected to an input shaft (3) through a simple freewheel (11), where the pinion is provided with a toothed wheel (12) secured to an intermediate shaft (9). A main freewheel (13) is mounted on the intermediate shaft, and has an additional toothed wheel (14) secured to a main shaft (1). A coupling mechanism of a coupling freewheel (7) engages the input shaft (3) with the freewheel (7) or kinematically isolates the input shaft (3) from the freewheel (7), where the shaft (3) is driven by motor members (MG, MD). #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a control method for changing rotation speed of a main shaft of a power transmission gearbox. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Power transmission gearbox i.e. main gearbox, for use in a rotorcraft such as helicopter e.g. twin helicopter or tri-motor helicopter, for transmitting rotational movement of a main shaft to motor members such as turboshaft engine or piston engine (all claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The gearbox modulates the speed of rotation of the rotor while maintaining uninterrupted torque transmitted by the motor member. The gearbox has reduced encumbrance, and is easy to manufacture, assemble and maintain. The gearbox provides different speeds to the rotor for the same initial rotational speed of the motor member. The gearbox does not require operations with complex functions during assembly and/or use.
