Class 110(ii) A pump of the n and n+1 lobe type has one inlet port 32 and two discharge ports 34, 36 leading to different points of use. The lobes of pistons 16 co-act with teeth 14 to seal off the inlet and two discharge spaces, periodically. The figure shows .an area A just cut off from the port 32 and an area B just about to be delivered to the port 36. To avoid trapping fluid in the space B a relief hole 40 allows a small quantity to pass to the port 34, or elsewhere or the ports 34, 36 may have a connecting duct. The port 34 may supply fluid for cooling a clutch mechanism and the port 36 provide power for operating the clutch. The driving gear 30 may be on a shaft of the engine being supplied by the pump which is secured to the engine casing.
