PURPOSE: A light source driving method, a light source device thereof, and a display device thereof are provided to prevent a flicker phenomenon by compensating a luminance central value based on an average gray scale value and a maximum gray scale value. CONSTITUTION: A luminance central value is generated based on an average gray scale value and a maximum gray scale value. The average gray scale value and the maximum gray scale value are extracted from a video signal corresponding to each light emitting block(S110). Each light emitting block comprises a light source. A predetermined pattern is detected from each light emitting block(S130). A compensation control signal is generated according to the pattern detection result. The luminance central value is compensated in response to the compensation control signal. Each light emitting block is driven according to the luminance level of each light emitting block and the compensated luminance central value(S170).
