PURPOSE: A method for selectively receiving contents and a terminal using the same transmitted through broadcast network are provided to prevent unnecessary waste of a terminal resource. CONSTITUTION: Guide information about contents broadcasted through a broadcast network is received. An identifier of contents and broadcasting time of the contents necessary for an application is extracted. The proper contents is received through broadcasting network by using the contents identifier on a broadcasting time of the proper contents(S160). The proper contents is supplied to a contents engine(S170).
