PURPOSE: A dust correcting apparatus and a method thereof in a digital image processor for recognizing the position of the dust in an image are provided to obtain a clear image after recognizing the position of the dust from an image. CONSTITUTION: A dust sensor senses the dust of a photographing device. A dust location calculating unit(51) calculates the position of the dust sensed by the dust sensor. A mean value calculating unit(52) calculates the color mean value of the dust position. A correcting unit(53) corrects the color tone value of the dust position to the calculated color mean value.
