A product for transfer of food modifiers to food products while contacting said product. The product comprises an edible coating on a base with the edible coating comprising a carrier material including a lipid which keeps a food modifier in such a manner as to allow releasing thereof. The product provides transfer of the food modifier from the coating, which is activated by heating or moisture, onto food products while contacting thereof. Using the product capable of providing transfer of the food modifier, a cook can conveniently and effectively modify the food product while cooking the food product prior to consuming thereof and thus improve flavour qualities of the product. |
