Disclosed is an unlocking device wherein a locking state is prevented from being accidentally released by hand, and a single operator can easily release a plug connector from a receptacle connector. A through-hole (411) is provided in a receptacle housing (4) of a receptacle connector (3). A protrusion (92) which can be engaged in the through-hole (411) and a plate spring (711) which biases the protrusion (92) to the through-hole (411) are provided in a plug housing (7) of a plug connector (6). An unlocking tool (9) is comprised of a tool body (91) and the protrusion (92). The tool body (91) can be attached to or detached from the receptacle housing (4) of the receptacle connector (3) in directions (D2) perpendicular to engaging/releasing directions (D1). The protrusion (92) is provided in the tool body (91), and presses a claw portion (712) against the biasing force of the plate spring (711) when the tool body (91) is attached to the receptacle connector (3), to release the engagement between the claw portion (712) and the through-hole (411).
