<p>PURPOSE: A digital image photographing apparatus and a method thereof for automatically taking a photograph of an image in case a subject is moved are provided to prevent the shaking of the image by pressing a shutter. CONSTITUTION: An area dividing unit(51) divides a subject image into a predetermined number of areas. An information detecting unit(53) detects information about the selected area. A comparing unit(57) compares the information about the selected area with the information about the other areas. In case the information about the selected area is similar to the information of the other, a controller automatically takes a picture by determining the movement of the subject.</p>
