An electric device (2100) provided with a first transmission line (2180b) for carrying a first current, at least one second transmission line (2190b) parallel to the first transmission line and for carrying a second current, and metamaterials (2110a, 2112a, 2140, 2112b, 2110b, 2122, 2124a, 2150, 2130, 2160, 2124b) which exhibit negative permittivity and negative permeability with respect to the resonance wavelength component of an electromagnetic field. The metamaterials are arranged in predetermined positions and directions so that negative permittivity and negative permeability are exhibited with respect to the resonance wavelength component of the electromagnetic field produced by the first current, and so that the negative permittivity and negative permeability affect the second transmission line electromagnetically, thereby causing the second current to flow. Due to this, the electric device can have a small size and achieve strong coupling. |
