The invention relates to a method for restoring heterozygous forms of higher plants including obtaining homozygous lines from heterozygous plants, crossing the homozygous lines and assessing the heterozygous plants obtained, reproducing the lines and restoring the heterozygous form by means of crossing. The homozygous lines are obtained by means of applying a microspore or macrospore culture in vitro, or by means of using apomixis mechanisms in vivo, preliminary blocking the exchange by the loci between homological chromosomes in the meiosis of a heterozygous plant, pairs of lines are matched in such a manner that each of the lines in a pair bears one of the homological chromosomes of the initial heterozygous plant, and genotypes thereof in totality correspond to the genotype of the initial heterozygous plant and will restore thereof while crossing. The method allows restoring any heterozygous form independently on the method for obtaining thereof. |
