ROBUST DATA TRANSMISSION

In a method and system control signaling, such as ROHC control signaling is separated from the user plane in the RLC layer. An indication is further being provided to the RLC layer of the Base Station Controller (BSC) and the Mobile station (MS) for enabling recognition of the separated control signaling. Hereby a more robust transport means than for the user plane can be activated.
