Disclosed is a fine structure (1, 101, 201, 301, 401) which comprises a resin base (10, 10A) having two-dimensionally continuing multiple fine protrusions (12A - 12E) and a functional layer (20) covering the fine protrusions (12A - 12E). The peak top distance (P) between the adjacent fine protrusions is 50 µm or less, and the functional layer (20) is formed by the direct chemical bonding of a silicon-containing compound to the surfaces of the fine protrusions (12A - 12E).
