Disclosed is a production method for a catalyst for producing propanediol, and a production method for propanediol using the same. The production method for a catalyst for producing propanediol is a production method for a catalyst which is added in a single reaction process for making propanediol from glycerol, and comprises the steps of: preparing a metal precursor solution by dissolving at least one type of metal precursor compound in a solvent; forming a precipitate by adjusting the pH of the metal precursor solution; aging the precipitate; filtering and drying the aged precipitate; and calcining the dried precipitate.
