<p>Disclosed is a method for detecting a substance in a biological sample. Also disclosed is a carrier for use in the method. Further disclosed is a kit. An embodiment of the method comprises the following steps 1) to 4): 1) providing a carrier having biotin bound thereto, and a fusion protein of a protein capable of specifically binding to a substance to be detected and a biotin-binding protein; 2) binding the fusion protein to the carrier mentioned in step 1) to produce the carrier having the fusion protein bound thereto; 3) adding a material (a) shown below and any one of materials (b-i) and (b-ii) shown below to the carrier having the fusion protein bound thereto produced in step 2) and mixing together; and 4) detecting the substance to be detected which is bound to the protein capable of specifically binding to the substance to be detected in the fusion protein: (a) the biological sample; (b-i) a cell disruption extract prepared from a cell which is homogeneous to a host cell utilized for expressing the fusion protein mentioned in step 1), and a biotin-binding protein; and (b-ii) a cell disruption extract prepared from a cell which is homogeneous to a host cell utilized for expressing the fusion protein mentioned in step 1) and in which a biotin-binding protein is expressed by a genetically engineering technology.</p> |
