An electronic apparatus and an electronic apparatus charging system which are configured so that the surface suitable for receiving electricity can be appropriately directed to a charger for supplying electric power. When a portable telephone (10A) is placed on the charger (20) in order to charge the secondary battery of the portable telephone (10A), if the rear surface (12A) of a lower housing (12) of the portable telephone (10A) is not facing the charger (20), a magnetic sensor (17) of a front/rear surface detecting section (32) of the portable telephone (10A) does not detect magnetism from a magnet (22) of the charger (20). Then, the user is notified that the portable telephone (10A) is located at a position not suitable for charging. Since the user understands by the notification that the portable telephone (10A) is located at an inappropriate position relative to the charger (20), the user can correctly direct the surface suitable for receiving electricity, which is the rear surface (12A) of the lower housing (12), to the charger (20). This eliminates the inconvenience of the charging being not performed at all.
