<p>An automatic transmission for a bulldozer is provided that has a shift ignore time yet is capable of starting at any speed stage of the operator's choice with enough traction force even at a low speed immediately after the start. The transmission has an automatic shifting means, a means for maintaining a speed, a load detector and a control regulator. The automatic shifting means shifts from one of a plurality of speed stages to another according to the vehicle speed. For the means for maintaining a speed, a shift-ignore time is set such that any direction of speed shifting after a speed shift is ignored until the shift-ignore time passes to maintain the speed. The load detector detects vehicle loads. The control regulator controls the means for maintaining a speed such that the means for maintaining a speed follows the direction of speed shifting from the automatic shifting means even during the sift-ignore time in case the detected load exceeds a predetermined level.</p> |
