The pump unit has an internal turning element i.e. pump gear (17), arranged at the interior of a pump body (13) of a pump (12). The pump body is coupled to an electric motor (19). The internal turning element is coupled to another electric motor (18). The motors are controlled in a manner to rotationally drive the pump body and the internal turning element in a same direction and at same speed such that the pump does not deliver a fluid flow and constitutes an available energy reserve by its turning mass, or in opposite directions for delivering the fluid flow.
