An improvement in the performance for detecting an object tissue configured from a liner structure in a three-dimensional image is achieved. The principal axis direction of an object candidate tissue configured from a linear structure or the normal direction of the tissue configured from a planar structure in a detection region is calculated, an object candidate region including the object candidate tissue is subjected to normalization processing on the basis of the principal axis direction or the normal direction, the feature amount of the object candidate region subjected to the normalization processing is calculated, and it is determined using the calculated feature amount whether or not the object tissue is included in the object candidate region. |
