<p>A controller of an electric motor consisting of a rotor having permanent magnets, and a stator which rotates the rotor by generating a rotating magnetic field with applied voltage is provided with a rectangular wave inverter which drives the electric motor by applying a rectangular wave voltage to the stator of an electric motor, a voltage conversion section which steps up or down the output voltage from a DC power supply and applies the stepped-up or down voltage to the rectangular wave inverter, an electrical angle acquisition section which acquires the electrical angle of the rotor of an electric motor, and a output voltage command generation section which generates a command for designating the voltage conversion section to output an electrical angle synchronous voltage having an amplitude which pulsates in synchronism with variation in the electrical angle of the rotor acquired at the electrical angle acquisition section. According to the command generated from the output voltage command generation section, the voltage conversion section steps up or down the output voltage from the DC power supply to the voltage designated by the command and applies the stepped-up or down voltage to the rectangular wave inverter while stepping up or down to a voltage. Consequently, loss due to response lag of the electric motor can be reduced.</p> |
