<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein a dyeing method not only capable of obtaining strong coloring but also suppressing the bleaching of keratin fibers by starting from orthodiphenol, especially starting from a natural extract containing the rich orthodiphenol is required to be developed, particularly, the coloring having low invasiveness to the hair, simultaneously resisting to the external factor (light, foul weather and shampooing), and maintaining strong power and dyeing properties while having sustainability and uniformity is required to be developed. <P>SOLUTION: The method for coloring the fibers comprises coating the keratin fibers with (i) at least one orthodiphenol derivative, (ii) at least one metal salt, (iii) at least hydrogen peroxide or at least one hydrogen peroxide generating system, and (iv) at least (bi)carbonate.
