PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reparation of damaged myocardium and/or myocardial cells after cardiac infarction. SOLUTION: If a somatic stem cell is transplanted in myocardium encompassing the site of infarction, it transfers to the damaged region and there it differentiates into a muscle cell, an endothelial cell, and a smooth muscle cell, then grows and forms a structure containing a muscle cell, a coronary artery, an arteriola and a blood capillary, and recovers structural and functional integrity of the site of infarction. If cytokine is administered to a patient after cardiac infarction, a stem cell existing in the patient himself and/or circulating is stimulated and heads down to the region of infarction through blood stream.
