PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying method and a conveying device for coal ash, easily conveying the coal ash to a coal disposal area on water, apart from a land without using a vessel. SOLUTION: The coal ash C is charged in an ash pit 11, the coal ash C charged in the ash pit 11 is swept away into a pump pit 12 by the flow of water in the coal disposal area S2 supplied from an underwater pump 16, the coal ash C flowing into the pump pit 12 is sucked by a side pump 19, and the coal ash C discharged from the side pump 19 is supplied to a prescribed position in the coal disposal area S2 through an ash conveying pipe 21 arranged along a water surface in the coal disposal area S2.
