<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for collecting sounds and capturing images in accordance with a distance between the imaging apparatus and a subject. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes an acquisition part, an imaging part, a control part and a recording control part. The acquisition part obtains focal distance information that is information about a focal distance of a photographing lens. The imaging part images a subject via the photographing lens to produce image data. Based on the focal distance information obtained by the acquisition part, the control part changes directivity of a microphone for collecting sounds.
