<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll fluid machine improving efficiency and reliability by reducing sliding loss between a thrust surface of a fixed scroll and a sliding surface of a turning end plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A surface touching the thrust surface of the fixed scroll of the turning end plate 6 has a shape offsetting to an outside by seal length a from an outside envelop of a locus drawn by a fixed scroll blade formed on the thrust surface of the fixed scroll in a view from a turning scroll 7 side when the turning scroll 7 turns. Consequently, since the area touching the thrust surface of the fixed scroll of the turning end plate 6 is made small and unnecessary sliding surface 19 is made small, sliding loss is reduced and progress of wear of the sliding surface is inhibited.
