<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dropping a delivered welding wire from a circular conic shaped flyer into a cylindrical container in a spiral shape and dispersedly storing the welding wire in a laminated state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The welding wire W delivered from a bobbin 2a set in a wire delivering machine 2 and led from a dancer roller device 3 is wound around a flat winding face of each of a drive roller 5a and a driven roller 5b of a double capstan 5 introduced to a wire guide chip 5c of the circular conic shaped flyer 6b rotating around a vertical axis L<SB>1</SB>and guided downward. At the same time, a lower end of the flyer 6b is made to closely approach an upper end of the laminated welding wire W in the cylindrical container 8 rotating around a vertical axis L<SB>2</SB>at the lower part of the flyer 6b, the closely approached state is monitored, the vertical axis L<SB>1</SB>of the flyer 6b and the vertical axis L<SB>2</SB>of the cylindrical container are made eccentric with each other, and the welding wire W is dropped and stored in the cylindrical container 8.
