PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve miniaturization and reduced cost of an electric double-layer capacitor used for assisting various kinds of power supplies and so on. SOLUTION: The electric double-layer capacitor includes: a laminate type element 1 out of which a pair of electrodes are led in the same direction; a pair of lead wires 6 and 7 having one-end sides joined to a pair of electrode lead-out parts of the element 1; a top-opened case 8 which stores the element 1 together with an electrolyte and out of which the pair of lead wires 6 and 7 are led from one side surface; a lid 9 coupled to an upper surface of the case 8; and a sealing rubber 10 having a hole into which the pair of lead wires 6 and 7 led out of the case 8 from the one side surface are inserted and arranged in the case 8 to seal the case 8. The simple configuration makes it possible to achieve the cost reduction by decreasing the number of components and the working man-hours, and also the miniaturization and low resistance.
