PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of initial uneven wear between a skew roller and an opposing member. SOLUTION: The medium conveying device includes the skew roller 31 for delivering a recording medium in a skewing direction with respect to the conveying direction of the recording medium, and the opposing member 32 disposed at a position opposing the skew roller 31 by sandwiching the recording medium and having a curved face at the side of the skew roller 31. An inclination specified based on an angle in the skewing direction with respect to the conveying direction and a curvature radius of the curved face is formed on one of an outer peripheral face of the skew roller 31, a rotary shaft of the skew roller 31, and a face on the opposing member 32 opposing the skew roller 31.
