<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet temperature estimating device and method for a motor, capable of accurately measuring the temperature of the permanent magnet of a rotor, and a protecting device of a motor, capable of suppressing damages to the motor or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The permanent magnet temperature estimating device for the motor 3 equipped with the rotor having a permanent magnet and a stator having a coil includes a temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the stator, a stator temperature estimation means 11 for estimating the temperature of the stator, a correcting means 13 for obtaining the temperature difference between the actual temperature of the stator detected by the temperature detection means and the estimated temperature of the stator estimated by the stator temperature estimation means to correct the temperature in a heat transfer pathway common to the stator and the rotor based on the temperature difference, and a rotor temperature estimation means 11 for estimating the temperature of the rotor based on the temperature of the heat transfer pathway corrected by the correcting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
