<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with improved safety and functionality by solving an issue that, if and in case temperature of a battery interior gets high with generation of heat caused by internal short circuit during charging, a cathode active material may serve as a source of oxygen supply to combustion components such as nonaqueous electrolyte, and controlling such an oxygen supply in case the internal short circuit occurs, and accordingly, reducing a heat radiation volume to be generated. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is composed of a cathode, an anode, a nonaqueous electrolyte, and a separator, of which, the cathode is provided with a collector and cathode active material particles laminated on the collector and equipped with a coating layer consisting of at least one sort of metal or alloy chosen from a group which includes Ti, Al, Mn and Zr. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
