<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system for setting an instantaneous print mode and a standby print mode in order to reduce power consumption, and surely and instantaneously executing print processing for a print job of a user who wants to receive a printed result object in a hurry, an image forming apparatus for the image forming system and a processing method in the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus obtains the residual amount of paper sheet stored in a housing part and determines whether the print processing for an object print job is possible on the basis of the obtained paper sheet residual amount. When the print processing is possible, the print processing for the object print job is executed.
