<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector, reducing power consumption when a light source is turned on. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The projector includes: a thermoelectric element which converts heat from a heating component to power; a storage battery which stores the power generated by the thermoelectric element; and a power supply control part which switches a main power source to the storage battery when the light source is turned on and supplies the power to a light source drive part for driving the light source.
