<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy saving type window device with a screen door, reducing sunlight entering into a room to suppress a temperature rise in the room while keeping the room in a well lighted state and allowing a person in the room to see the outside of the door with a good visibility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The window device with a screen door comprises a sash door arranged in a window and having a double glazed glass having a sealed gas layer and a screen door with a screen arranged in parallel with the sash door. The wire constituting the opening of the screen has a diameter or width of 0.12-1.2 mm, the mean opening area of 0.2-1.3 mm<SP>2</SP>and an opening ratio, the ratio of the total area of openings to the total area of the screen, of 27-61%. The appropriate opening ratio of the screen of the screen door, and the gas layer sealed between the double glazed glasses are organically combined to drastically suppress temperature rise in the room, and cooling effect of an air-conditioner in the room is enhanced to effectively achieve energy saving.
