<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid car for much more appropriately achieving the correction of the ignition period of an engine and the suppression of knocking and a method for controlling the hybrid car. <P>SOLUTION: When intake temperature Ti reaches prescribed temperature Tiref or more during the load operation of an engine (S220) and a previous Δtf set as delay angle quantity is larger than a first angle CA1, the correction of an ignition period with first delay angle quantity Δtf1 based on volume efficiency KL as the intake temperature Ti and load of the engine is performed (S240), and when the previous Δtf set as the delay angle quantity is equal to or less than the first angle CA1, the correction of the ignition period with the first delay angle quantity Δtf1 based on the intake temperature Ti and the volume efficiency KL and the correction of the ignition period with second delay angle quantity Δtf2 for setting knock strength Kr of the knocking of an engine 22 to the allowable range of less than a prescribed value Kref is carried out (S240, S270, S280).
