<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for an engine, and a saddle-ride type vehicle including the same, increasing the capacity of an air cleaner and also providing an intake air inertia effect over a wide engine speed range. <P>SOLUTION: This intake device for the engine includes an air cleaner box 23 for storing cleaned air passed through a filter element, and also a pair of main frames 4R, 4L is provided with boxes 24R, 24L in the frames, communicating with the air cleaner box 23. The boxes 23, 24R, 24L are connected to the intake port of the engine through an intake pip. According to the operating condition of the engine, a first valve 32 controls an air flow led to flow from the air cleaner box 23 to the intake pipe, and also second valves 34R, 34L control an air flow led to flow from the air cleaner box 23 to the boxes 24R, 24L in the frames.
